Completion of this program will award the graduate with the Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) and prepare the graduate for a seamless transition to a Bachelor of Science Nursing (BSN) program. The graduate is eligible to apply for the National Licensing Examination for Registered Nurses (RN-NCLEX).

Program Admission Requirements
Applications are accepted once a year. Admission is offered in the Fall semester only. Visit our website for the application filing period dates.
✓ Be at least 18 years of age at the time of admission.
✓ An active Licensed Vocational Nursing (LVN) license without restrictions or limitations.
✓ Must have a minimum of 1-year direct care experience as an LVN.
✓ Pass the ATI TEAS with a score of 62% or higher on the first attempt to be eligible to apply.
✓ Apply to GWC and obtain a student ID number.
✓ Complete an online nursing orientation. Upload to the online application, the orientation attestation page .
✓ Be in adequate health to perform the duties of a Registered Nurse. These requirements are detailed in the current college catalog.
✓ Submit official transcripts* to the GWC Admissions and Records prior to the last day of current application period.
✓ Attendance of the “LVN to RN” information session.
✓ Completion of the NURS G190 course with a grade of “C” or better.
✓ Completion of BIOL G220 Human Anatomy, BIOL G225 Human Physiology and BIOL G210 General Microbiology, with grades of “C” or better and with a GPA of 2.5 or greater within the last 7 years.
*Foreign transcripts must be translated by an official agency prior to application to the Nursing Programs. This is required to evaluate equivalency of both high school education and college courses.
✓ Qualified applicants often outnumber the available spaces in the class. Selection of qualified applicants is through random lottery selection process.
✓ Notification letters will be sent to all applicants. Selected applicants must accept in writing of their admission offer by the deadline date or an alternate candidate will be offering the space.
✓ Upon acceptance, applicants will be given information to allow them to complete the program requirements

Program Requirements
Applicants who are selected must successfully meet the following requirements and are responsible for any costs incurred. Specific information will be provided to the selected applicants once admission is confirmed by the applicant.
✓ Physical Examination, Titers, and Immunizations: The results of the required physical examination must indicate appropriate physical and emotional health standards for the program. 2.
✓ Clear background check and urine drug testing.
✓ A current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS CPR card.
✓ “Registered Student Nurse” Malpractice Insurance.
✓ Uniforms and professional supplies/equipment.
✓ Transportation: Adequate, reliable transportation is required.
